Celtic have added quite a few players to their ranks this summer and should be very happy with how the squad is looking at this point of time. But on the other hand, a number of players have headed out of Parkhead as well, either on a permanent basis or on loan. Thus, in a summer when not a lot of activity was expected, the Hoops have done quite a bit of reshuffling.
In terms of exits, there have not been any high profile names though. Perhaps the biggest departures have been the loan exits of Vasilis Barkas and Ismaila Soro, and the permanent departure of Boli Bolingoli. None of them were expected to get a lot of playing time though and as a result, should not have a major impact on the first-team.
Now, another player has joined the list of those heading out of Parkhead and that is Osaze Urhoghide. The move has come out of the blue. While the defender was not expected to be a regular feature in the first-team, there were no rumours surrounding his future recently.
Urhoghide has completed a loan return to KV Oostende, where he spent time last season as well. The Belgian club tweeted out:
Celtic player completes return to Belgian club on loan
Urhoghide had gotten a decent amount of playing time in pre-season but it was clear that he was not ready to be playing regular first-team football for the Hoops in the near future.
Urhoghide has been signed last summer. He had been a very highly-rated player while breaking out at the senior level at Sheffield Wednesday, but he has not been make his mark since arriving at Celtic.
It will be interesting to see how he does at KV Oostende this season. While Urhoghide has quite a bit of potential, he seems to be a raw talent at the moment and needs a lot of work.
