Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos worry while Celtic get better

It is expected to be a tough race between Celtic and the Rangers for the Premiership this time around. The Hoops will be riding high on confidence after their double win and most experts had suggested when Ange Postecoglou arrived that his teams were better in his second season in charge. On the other hand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were able to reach the UEFA Europa League final last season.

Celtic have continued to get better this summer. The club have signed Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Daizen Maeda on permanent deals after successful loan spells, while also adding Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist, Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz. On the other hand, there have been no high profile exits.

To be fair, the Rangers have made some interesting additions as well but at the same time, they are losing a couple of key players.

Also, their striker situation must be a worry for Van Bronckhorst. With just 11 days go till the start of the season, neither Alfredo Morelos is yet to play a minute of pre-season football, as he recovers from injury. On the other hand, his long-term future at the club is up in the air as well, with his current deal running out next summer. Kemar Roofe is being linked with an Ibrox exit too.

Rangers have Morelos worry while Celtic continue to get better

Like every summer transfer window, Morelos once again has been linked with a big move away from the Rangers without anything transpiring till now.

Celtic cannot afford to look towards what is happening at Ibrox though and they must remain focussed on themselves. The Hoops have shown a lot of positive things in pre-season but at the same time, there are areas that they can get better in as well.

Also, the club will have to find a way to replace both Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton, their contributions on the pitch as well as their bags of experience.
