Celtic player completes Parkhead exit out of nowhere

Celtic have been surrounded by a wide range of rumours in recent times. Most of them have been about players the club are potentially interested in and to be frank, that is the most exciting part of the summer transfer window. On the other hand, some players have left Parkhead as well, but there have been no real high profile exits.

Boli Bolingoli is someone who has always been expected to leave Celtic this summer but there were no clubs being linked with him over the past few weeks and months. As a result, many fans even wondered whether he would stay on at the club.

That has not turned out to be the case though and almost out of the blue, Bolingoli has completed a permanent exit.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Bolingoli has agreed a permanent move to Belgian top flight club KV Mechelen on a two-year deal.

Celtic player completes Parkhead exit out of the blue

KV Mechelen are a club whose name Celtic fans would be pretty familiar with. They had signed Maryan Shved last summer and now, they have secured the signature of Bolingoli as well.

Bolingoli had joined Celtic in the summer of 2019 in a £3 million deal from Rapid Vienna, in the same window that Kieran Tierney left the club in order to join Arsenal in a Scottish record move.

Thus, it is safe to say that there were high hopes from Bolingoli when he first arrived but things just have not worked out for the Belgian. He never really found his feet at the club, and now with Alexandro Bernabei arriving from Lanus, there are very little hopes that he would see any first-team action in the 2022/23 campaign.

Thus, Bolingoli leaving might be the best step for all parties involved and we can only wish him the best of luck at KV Mechelen.
