There’s been plenty of stories in the Scottish media about potential moves away for some Celtic players. For example, Christopher Jullien has been heavily tipped to leave the Hoops this summer although he did end up scoring in the first pre-season friendly against Wiener Viktoria. While the rumours surrounding the Frenchman have not come as a surprise, the ones regarding Josip Juranovic did come out of the blue.
Juranovic is believed to be attracting the interest of several Premier League clubs and La Liga’s Atletico Madrid appear to be keen on the Croatian international as well.
Him leaving would be a massive blow for Ange Postecoglou’s side, as Juranovic established himself as a key part of this team last season.
But as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano a few weeks ago, Juranovic is expected to leave Celtic this summer as many clubs are following him.
Juranovic appears to drop hint about Celtic future amid exit links
Not a lot has emerged regarding the future of Juranovic since those early rumours about a move away from Celtic and that has to be considered as good news for the Hoops.
“It’s amazing, green and white, (looks) like first place. It’s really amazing. I can’t wait to wear it during a game.”
When asked about more trophies with Celtic, he replied:
“I hope so.”
You’d expect him to be looking forward to the upcoming tribute match to Artur Boruc match on 20 July against his previous club Legia Warsaw too.
As Postecoglou continues the Hoops’ transformation we’re all keen to see how his second season in charge plays out. Hopefully players like Juranovic will be keen to play a significant part and to participate in the fresh and exciting challenge that the Champions League group stage matches will provide.
