Most of the recent rumours surrounding Celtic have involved incomings. The club have completed a big move for Cameron Carter-Vickers already while Jota is believed to be on the verge of completing a permanent switch to Parkhead as well. It also looks like a transfer for Alexandro Bernabei of Lanus is also a matter of time.
On the other hand, the club are being linked with several defensive midfielders as well. Long-time captain, Scott Brown, had departed Parkhead last summer and Nir Bitton brought the curtain down on his nearly decade-long Celtic career at the end of last season.
As a result, it is safe to say that Celtic need to sign a defensive midfielder this summer but on the other hand, one could be headed in the opposite direction as well.
As reported by Football Scotland, Ismaila Soro is poised to leave Celtic and a loan move seems to be on the cards. Partizan are believed to be looking to secure the signature of the Ivory Coast midfielder.
Celtic midfielder could be set for exit this summer
Soro has never managed to make himself a regular feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans. He had managed to impress under the management of Neil Lennon for a brief spell in the 2020/21 campaign but that did not last long. As a result, a move away from the club might be the best step for him at this point of time.
Celtic have other worries in the defensive midfield area as well, as neither James McCarthy nor Yosuke Ideguchi have managed to nail down a spot in the first-team since their respective arrivals at Parkhead.
On the other hand, the likes of Vinicius Souza of Lommel SK, Alfa Semedo of Vitoria Guimaraes, and several other defensive midfielders have been linked with the Hoops as potential summer transfer targets.
