Celtic have had a very good record when it comes to making signings, since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. That is evident from the fact that they won the Premiership and League Cup double after undergoing a major rebuild of the squad last summer. A number of those new arrivals end up playing a key part in their successful 2021/22 campaign though.
But that does not mean that there have not been moves which have not worked out for the Hoops. Like every club, there have been a fair share of those for Celtic as well, but much less frequent than had been the case in the past.
One player who has failed to make much of an impact since arriving at Celtic last summer is Liam Scales. He was brought in from Shamrock Rovers and while he did make a few good showings, ultimately, he has not been able to nail down a regular spot in the team.
Now, with the club being linked with several other left-backs as well, it might not be a bad idea for the defender to be sent out on loan or perhaps even a permanent exit in the summer. And as reported by the Daily Record, sources in Ireland have confirmed that Scales would be interested in moving to Aberdeen to get regular playing time.
The Celtic would be interested in moving to Aberdeen for regular playing time
Scales was very highly rated during his time at Shamrock Rovers and considered as one of the best players in the League of Ireland. Many even believed that he was good enough to walk straight into the Celtic starting XI.
Obviously, that has not turned out to be the case, as he has struggled to even have a regular role in the team as a substitute.
Thus, a move away from the club on loan could serve him well and help him find his feet in the Scottish game. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
