Celtic are closing in on signing Bayern Munich player

Celtic are expected to make some additions to their squad over the course of the upcoming summer transfer window. The club have done a tremendous job when it comes to recruitment since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. Now though, they appear to be in need of further strengthening, with Champions League football to play next season as well as the Scottish crown to defend.

One area that they might need to bring reinforcements in is attacking midfield. Tom Rogic brought an end to his almost decade-long run at Celtic at the end of the 2021/22 season.

The Australian had been one of Celtic’s best players last season though. As a result, he will be a big miss and someone that the Hoops will need to find a replacement for. Interestingly, they had been linked with Bayern Munich’s Christopher Scott a couple of months back and now, there appears to be an update on the situation.

As reported by GHANAsoccernet, Celtic are close to signing Scott in the summer transfer window and he could move to Parkhead if the club meet Bayern Munich’s £250,000 asking price. The Hoops are the favourites to sign the youngster.

Why the Bayern Munich player could be a great addition to Celtic

If Celtic are able to sign Scott, especially for a transfer fee around £250,000, it has the potential to be an absolute masterstroke on the part of the club.

Scott has not made much of a mark at the senior level for Bayern Munich but at the same time, one has to remember that he is still 19 years of age. While coming through the youth ranks, he was considered one of the best in Germany.

Before Bayern Munich, he was with Bayer Leverkusen and at one point of time, he was compared with Kai Havertz.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Scott scored 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 24 appearances for Bayern Munich II last season.

His versatility is something that would make him attractive to Celtic as well, as the youngster also has the ability to play on the wings.
