Celtic could sign brilliant defender for just £1.2 million fee

Celtic fans must be delighted with how well the club have done this season. There were not a lot of expectations coming into the campaign after how badly the previous one had gone, with the Hoops finishing trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers. But Ange Postecoglou and his players have turned things on its head, and could very possibly be headed for an unlikely double, as they have already won the Scottish League Cup and are leading the Premiership by 6 points.

Thus, no matter how this season ends, it has to be considered as a success for the club. But at the same time, they cannot rest on their laurels.

There are still several areas in this squad which could do with reinforcements and there is the feeling that we have not seen Angeball at its best yet. Hopefully, the board will back Postecoglou in the summer.

One position that definitely needs strengthening is left-back and Celtic have been linked with a move for Hammarby’s Mohanad Jeahze. Initial rumours suggested that it would take a £2 million transfer fee to sign him but now, it looks like it could be lower than that.

Celtic could sign Jeahze for major bargain transfer fee

As reported by Expressen (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic might have to shell out a transfer fee between 15 million and 20 million SEK to sign Jeahze. That converts to between £1.2 million and £1.6 million.

That kind of a figure has to be considered as a bargain for someone with the potential of Jeahze, who has been one of the key reasons behind Hammarby sitting at the top of the Allsvenskan table at this point of time.

His numbers going forward have been brilliant, as he tops the Swedish league among defenders in multiple parameters since his arrival at Hammarby. On the other hand, he can more than hold his own defensively as well.

Thus, he could be a pretty good fit in Postecoglou’s system, which relies heavily on the full-backs going forward and it is not hard to see why Celtic might indeed be interested in the Iraq international left-back. He could be some great competition for Greg Taylor, who has improved a lot under the new manager, while also filling in the squad spot of Boli Bolingoli, who seems to be headed for the exit door in the upcoming summer transfer window.
