Celtic player sends message as Parkhead exit confirmed

Celtic have received a massive blow ahead of the summer transfer window, with one of their most talented prodigies in years making a swift exit from the club before ever really making an impact at Parkhead. Believed to be one of the best youngsters in all of Scotland, Ben Doak made his senior debut for the Hoops earlier this season, becoming the second youngster player to feature in their history.

At the age of 16, Doak has already had a lot of praise showered upon him, helping him attract the eyes of some of the top clubs around Europe.

Liverpool emerged as a potential destination and continued to monitor the youngster’s progress at the youth level. Although Doak’s second senior appearance for Celtic came in as a second-half substitute in the Premiership fixture against the Rangers in February at Parkhead, it was not enough to convince him to stay.

A move to Liverpool has been rumoured for quite some time and now, it has been onfirmed by the player himself.

Celtic youngster confirms his transfer to Liverpool

After months of speculation over a potential move to Anfield, Liverpool have managed to get the deal over the line, with Doak confirming his much-awaited transfer to the Merseyside club via a social media post. Sharing an image of him signing a contract, he wrote on his Instagram:

“Looking forward to a new chapter”

As reported by Liverpool Echo, the Premier League side will pay a compensation fee of around £600k to the Scottish giants for the youngster.

It is believed that Doak will join the youth ranks of Liverpool and will not be thrown into Jurgen Klopp’s senior side right away.

While known as a lifelong Celtic supporter, the player decided on a move to England.
