Celtic have chance to sign Bundesliga star perfect for Angeball

Celtic have made some solid additions to their squad already since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager in the summer. But it does feel like there is a long way to go for this side before we can see Angeball in full flow at Parkhead, even though we have already seen glimpses of it here and there, and those have been enough to excite the fan about what is to come in the future.

One would expect the Hoops to strengthen their squad further in the upcoming summer transfer window, especially if they are able to secure their place in next season’s Champions League main stage.

Midfield is an area that Celtic might still need to strengthen, as we saw that area of the pitch struggle particularly against the Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final. And the Hoops must keep an eye on Arminia Bielefeld’s Masaya Okugawa.

The Japanese attacking midfielder has managed to standout in a team that could very well be headed for relegation, currently sitting in the Bundesliga drop zone. And if that does end up happening, it would open up a huge opportunity for Celtic to sign him, possibly even for a bargain transfer fee.

Why Okugawa could be perfect fit for Celtic’s Angeball

Okugawa has quite an eye for goal. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 8 goals and provided an assist in 29 Bundesliga appearances this season.

One has to remember that Arminia Bielefeld are the lowest scoring team in the Bundesliga this season, having found the back of the net just 23 times till now, meaning Okugawa has scored more than a third of their goals. That could also be the reason behind his low number of assists.

It is not just his effectiveness up the pitch that is impressive though. He is an excellent dribbler as well, capable of working in tight spaces and a very good pressure.
