Celtic came into this game knowing that a win would hand them a gigantic boost in the Premiership title race. And that’s exactly what they got for themselves, getting a 2-1 victory away at Ibrox, their first away against the Rangers since 2019. And now, the Hoops have a six point lead in the league, with just 6 more games to be played. Thus, it is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou’s side are in the driver’s seat.
It was not a good start though as Aaron Ramsey put the Rangers ahead in the opening minutes of the game.
But it was not long before Tom Rogic found the equaliser and then, Cameron Carter-Vickers would score the winner before half-time.
It goes without saying that this is a huge win for Celtic and now, they have a few fingers already on the Premiership trophy.
Title, Ange, Defence: 3 things we learned from Celtic vs Rangers
Here are three things we learned as Celtic walked out of Ibrox with a 2-1 win over the Rangers and a six point lead in the title race:
Title is still not won and we never stop
It might be time to celebrate for Celtic but one has to remember that the title is still not won. A 6 point lead with 6 games to go is a commanding one. But the title race is not over yet.
There is still one more Glasgow Derby left to be played, as well as some other tough games as well. Thus, while the Hoops might be the favourites to win the Premiership this year, they cannot afford to relax for one second.
There is still plenty to play for. As Postecoglou said in his first training session – ‘We never stop’. And hopefully, the players will continue following that mantra until the fate of the title is decided.
