Celtic finally got the job done at Ibrox, winning at the Rangers home ground for the first time since 2019. And fortunately, they arguably did it in the most important game of the season for both Glasgow giants. Ange Postecoglou’s side came from behind to get a 2-1 win against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team, and the result leaves the Hoops leading the title race by six points, with just six games left to go.
Thus, it is safe to say that Celtic are now the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership, even though there is still quite some distance to go for them.
On the other hand, it looks like the Rangers’ reign as the champions of Scotland might be just one season long. And it is safe to say that their fans were not happy with the result at Ibrox. They made that known during the game and after.
Rangers fans unhappy with Van Bronckhorst following 2-1 defeat vs Celtic
It is safe to say that Rangers already had a mountain to climb before this game. And now, their only hope is Celtic slipping up in the remaining games.
When Van Bronckhorst arrived as manager, following Steven Gerrard’s exit in the middle of the season, it is safe to say that the majority of their supporters were delighted. And he did have a good record in management. But it is safe to say that things have not turned out as they would have hoped.
On the other hand, Celtic appear to have pulled off a managerial masterstroke in the summer by appointing Postecoglou and a few more wins could see him guide the club back to the Scottish football again.
