It is hard to imagine now but coming out of the winter break, most people had already written Giakoumakis off as a transfer mistake on the part of Celtic.
The Greek striker has not managed to remain fit for any considerable length of time since arriving at Parkhead in the summer and even he was on the pitch, he did not look very impressive.
Things have taken almost a 180 degree turn since the turn of the year though. Giakoumakis has been nothing short of magnificent over the past couple of months and the Hoops might be relying on him to find the back of the net against the Rangers.
