Chris Sutton makes worrying Celtic vs Livingston claim

Celtic dropped a couple of points recently against Hibernian in a goalless draw and Ange Postecoglou’s side have looked nowhere near their best over the past few weeks. And with how tight this title race is, with just three points separating the two Glasgow giants, there is no room for the Hoops to stumble once again. Unfortunately, their upcoming game against Livingston is one that many fans will be worried about.

Celtic have struggled whenever they have travelled to Livingston. They lost 1-0 there earlier on in the season. And they could only manage a goalless draw at Parkhead in the reverse fixture against David Martindale’s side.

Thus, it is safe to say that with just nine games remaining in the Premiership campaign, this game is of huge importance in the title race.

While Celtic might be on top of the table, considering their record against Livingston away from home, it is hard to consider Postecoglou’s side as favourites going into the game. And Chris Sutton’s recent comments will worry the fans. He wrote in the Daily Record:

They have been tough in recent years and they are notoriously hard to beat on their own patch. We all know the surface suits them and no one else.

But they can also play a bit.

David Martindale has done a superb job in the last couple of years and they are on a terrific run of form.

So much so I actually believe Celtic fans expect to drop points there tomorrow.

Celtic face a huge test away at Livingston

Unfortunately, it is true that many Celtic fans expect the Hoops to drop points tomorrow. And that just goes on to show the magnitude of the task that they face.

Postecoglou has already failed in his first away test to Livingston this season, with the Hoops losing 1-0 to Martindale’s side. At least this time around, he will have some experience of what lies ahead for his side.

On top of everything else, Livingston are a side in great form as well. They sit at fourth in the Premiership table right now and have not in their last five games in the league.

The fact that Celtic look completely out of form right now and are missing key players does not help their chances either.
