Celtic managed to get a 2-0 win over St Mirren to hold on to their 3-point lead over the Rangers in the Premiership table. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Callum McGregor found their names on the scoresheet on the day. It was not a great performance from the Hoops though, as has been the case quite often this season, and they will know that they need to improve, with tougher tests ahead.
One huge test for this Celtic side will be their upcoming away trip to Livingston. It is safe to say that the Hoops do not have a great record there or against The Lions in general.
They lost there 1-0 earlier in the season and the game at Parkhead had finished goalless. On top of that, Livingston are in great form and are sitting at fourth in the Premiership table. Thus, fans will be worried going into the game.
“We have time to prepare and we will get Giakoumakis back which will give us more quality in depth.
“It will be a tough challenge but so will all the games now for the rest of the season.”
Celtic will need to get a win against Livingston
With just 9 league games remaining, this will be one of the toughest tests that Celtic have ahead of them.
Giakoumakis’ return should come as a huge boost for the Hoops though. On one hand, the Greek striker has brought something very different to the table and has looked like a very important player in this team, following the winter break and in the absence of Kyogo.
On the other hand, Daizen Maeda just does not look ready to lead the Celtic line on his own and has failed to impress since his move Parkhead in January.
Now, let’s see if Giakoumakis ends up starting against Livingston, after missing the previous two games due to illness.
