Celtic player looks set to miss game vs Bodo/Glimt

Celtic have a very tough tie coming up against Bodo/Glimt. The Norwegian champions have been impressive in Europe this season, and even hold an incredible 6-1 win over Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma. Thus, it is safe to say that they are a team that the Hoops will need to take very seriously, when the two teams meet each other in the UEFA Europa Conference League next.

Of course, considering the kind of form that Celtic have showcased this season, they should be confident of their own chances as well.

The club have got a win over Real Betis, who are sitting at third in La Liga right now, and were minutes away from beating Bayer Leverkusen, who sit at third in the Bundesliga, away in Germany. They also dominated the Rangers recently on their way to a convincing 3-0 victory.

Thus, when Celtic and Bodo/Glimt face each other, it is expected to be a tight contest. It does look like the Hoops will be without Mikey Johnston though, after he picked up an injury recently. As reported by The Scotsman, Ange Postecoglou said:

“From last weekend, Mikey Johnston picked up an ankle sprain – nothing too serious but it will keep him out for a little while.”

Johnston looks set to miss Celtic vs Bodo/Glimt game

Johnston was forced off the pitch recently in Celtic’s recent Scottish Cup match against Raith Rovers. And it is one in a long list of injuries that the winger has picked up over the past couple of years.

There is no doubt about his talent, but one injury after another appear to have stalled his development and at the moment, Johnston is struggling to make an impact even when he is on the pitch.

Even if he was fit, Johnston would not have been expected to start against Bodo/Glimt though, as Jota and Liel Abada are pretty much the first-choice wingers for Celtic at the moment. The bigger question is, who will start at striker?
