Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Celtic’s Reo Hatate will get more goals and assists than Ramsey between now and the end of the season.
The Wales international is on loan at Ibrox from Juventus until the end of the season.
Fabrizio Romano reported last Friday (4 February) the Gers will have priority over other clubs if they want to sign him permanently.
“We have to relax and see how Ramsey does, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“This is not a Mickey Mouse league where it will be super easy, the Scottish Premiership is a tough league.
“Many players have come there, the likes of Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar have gone there and flopped.
“It’s not a place where you go and expect an easy ride.
“He has to earn the right to join Rangers, they’re not just going to sign him for the sake of it.
“If I was a betting man, I think Reo Hatate will outscore and assist him between now and the end of the season.
“If I’m Celtic, I’m thinking ‘You can go out and sign Ramsey for big money, we’ve got Hatate, who is better’.
“Juventus have let Ramsey go for a reason. They would not have let him go if he was on form because they are struggling in their league.
“Let’s not get too carried away and wait to see what Ramsey turns up.
“Rangers might look at it at the end of the season like ‘He’s come for 20 games, done OK, but we’re not going to pursue it.”
