Motherwell goalkeeper’s incredible Celtic admission

Celtic are riding a great run of form at the moment. There were some worries going into the game against Motherwell about whether they would slip up following the brilliant 3-0 Glasgow Derby win against the Rangers. They had done so after the Scottish League Cup triumph in December, when they were only able to get a 0-0 draw against St Mirren. There were no dropped points this time around though.

Celtic walked out with a comfortable 4-0 win against Motherwell, and on another day, the scoreline could have looked much more dominant in favour of the Hoops.

Tom Rogic scored a brilliant brace, while Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda also found the back of the net once each. And it is safe to say that Celtic were the far better team on the day. They are now sitting at the top of the Premiership table and will be hoping to remain there till the end of the campaign.

Even Motherwell goalkeeper, Liam Kelly, has admitted that Celtic were probably a bit too good for them. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:

“We were up against a really good side who were probably a bit much for us.

“In the first half we tried to give it a go and they picked us apart.”

He also added:

“They were too good for the press we tried to put on. We got caught in between most things. They have top players and made us pay.”

Can Celtic go on to win the Premiership this season?

After finishing 25 points behind the Rangers in the league table last season and losing three of their first six games in this current campaign, not many could have predicted Celtic to be in this position.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have already won the Scottish League Cup this season and sit at first in the league with 13 games left to be played.

Of course, there is still a long way to go and a lot of football left to be played, including a couple of Glasgow Derbies, which could prove to be vital. But Celtic appear to be in the ascendency right now and look like the team to beat in Scotland.
