Celtic handed massive Cameron Carter-Vickers boost

Celtic have done tremendously well in terms of signing players this season, whether it be in the summer or in January. And not only have they got their permanent deals right, but their loan ones as well. Two of the club’s standout players this season are at Parkhead on a temporary basis right now in the form of Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers. Although, it is safe to say that the club would like to sign both on a permanent basis.

One of Celtic’s biggest problems in recent times had been their defence. The arrival of Carter-Vickers has gone a long way in solving that major issue though as he has formed a formidable centre-back pairing with Carl Starfelt in the heart of the Hoops’ defence.

Celtic are believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal for Carter-Vickers as well and now, they have been handed a potential boost in their quest to sign him on a permanent basis.

As tweeted out by Ekrem Konur, Carter-Vickers is not in Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham Hotspur, which is why Celtic believe that they will make the transfer permanent.

Celtic handed Carter-Vickers transfer boost

If Celtic are able to sign Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis from Tottenham Hotspur, it would be seen as a major coup on the part of the Hoops without any doubt.

The defender has already proven himself in Scottish football, is a major part of their team already and is very young, meaning he can contribute to the club for the foreseeable future.

Of course, it remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming weeks and months, but let’s hope for the best.

Rumours have suggested that the option to buy that Celtic have for Carter-Vickers is a transfer fee around £6 million, which would immediately make him one of the most expensive signings in the history of the club.
