Coming into the season, not many Celtic fans would have expected the club to be where they are at now. They had finished 25 points behind the Rangers in the Premiership last season while finishing without a single piece of silverware. They were also going through a major summer overhaul, with a number of stars leaving and several new players arriving at the same time. On top of that, they had a new manager in the form of Postecoglou.
Fast forward some months and Celtic have won the Scottish League Cup and are sitting at the top of the Premiership table as well, having defeated the Rangers 3-0 at Parkhead recently.
And not only are the Celtic players doing well, but at this point, a number of them are doing well while playing in the same position.
Although that is always a welcome headache for a manager to have, it could lead to a few Celtic stars struggling for playing time moving forward.
3 Celtic stars who could struggle for playing time now
Here are three Celtic stars who might struggle for playing time moving forward after how well some of the players have done recently:
Ralston has had a bit of a breakout season at Celtic. At the start of the campaign, not much was expected from the right-back although he did get a run of games as the club did not have anybody else in that position.
And it is safe to say that Ralston took the chance with both hands, proving to be one of Celtic’s most consistent performers in the first half of the campaign and coming up with some big moments as well when needed.
He could struggle for playing time moving forward though, with Josip Juranovic appearing to be ahead of him in the pecking order and doing brilliantly as well, with his performance against the Rangers being a particular highlight.
