Celtic player arrives in Belgium to complete loan move

The early portion of Celtic’s January transfer window was marked by incomings. The Hoops needed to strengthen their squad this month if they wanted to put up a title challenge in the second half of the season and the club did manage to do that. Now though, the focus seems to have shifted towards sending out those players on loan, who have struggled to break into Ange Postecoglou’s first-team plans till now.

This has seen Liam Shaw head out on loan to Motherwell, while HJK Helsinki have signed Conor Hazard on a temporary basis. Ewan Henderson has joined Hibernian on loan as well, but in his case, it is expected to be made permanent in the summer.

Amidst all this, another player who has been heavily linked with a loan exit is Osaze Urhoghide. And it feels like he might not be far away from getting it either.

As reported by The Scotsman, Urhoghide has arrived in Belgium and is on the verge of completing a loan move to KV Oostende.

Urhoghide is in Belgium to complete loan move to KV Oostende from Celtic

This could be a great move for Urhoghide. KV Oostende have already shown their ability to develop players, having done so with Jack Hendry last season and he is playing Champions League football with Club Brugge now.

Urhoghide arrived at Celtic in the summer and was in fact the first signing of the Postecoglou era. It is safe to say that things have not gone the way he would have envisioned at that point of time though.

He had to wait until December to get his debut for Celtic and put in a solid display against Real Betis in the Europa League. But he has not managed to make another appearance for the club since then. As a result, a loan move makes sense for his development.
