Celtic handed massive injury boosts from Lennoxtown

As the injury crisis at Celtic grew match by match before Christmas, Ange Postecoglou had a lot to be worried about. The squad was becoming more stretched with every passing game and at times, the manager had to scramble for options to even put out a strong team on the pitch. But we have seen some great signs from the club’s recent training session at Lennoxtown.

It may have been cold and snowy weather for the group to train in, but Postecoglou must have had a warm glow from seeing his squad together at this week’s training at Lennoxtown.

The players available to Postecoglou for selection are now looking much better with new signings mixing in with players recovering from their injuries. And of course we’ve seen a few players depart as well, such as Ewan Henderson to Hibernian on an initial loan which will become permanent in the summer and Liam Shaw to Motherwell on loan.

Although there is still a lot of uncertainty over international call ups later this month, there is plenty of good news coming out of Lennoxtown as well.

Obviously, we had the new signings joining training and getting used to their new surroundings and teammates. Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi must have been keen to make a great start and Reo Hatate is now in Glasgow too.

The Daily Record put out some great pictures from the training session and a video was posted on Celtic’s official YouTube channel as well.

Christopher Jullien, who has been out of action for more than a year, played his part in the training session. Giorgos Giakoumakis and James Forrest were both involved as well and look on their path to a comeback.

Of course, the likes of Kyogo and Jota appear to be still out but hopefully not for much longer.
