Reliable journalist makes surprising Celtic transfer claim

Celtic are expected to enjoy a big January transfer window and have been linked with quite a few players over the past several weeks. And it is not hard to see why considering the lack of depth in several positions across the pitch at Parkhead right now. The worries at the club must have only multiplied in that regard in recent weeks as players like Kyogo, Jota, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston and a few others have picked up injuries.

The situation is far from ideal and it remains to be seen how Ange Postecoglou’s side navigate through the month of December. But they will get a chance to improve matters when the transfer window reopens in January.

This is a chance that the club cannot miss if they are to put a sustainable title challenge. And with all rumours coming out of both Japanese and Scottish media in recent weeks, it feels like they are closing in on the triple signing of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi. There have even been suggestions that the moves have been agreed in general or are close to being agreed.

Journalist Dan Orlowitz still does not seem to be convinced though that all three will happen at the same time. He tweeted out:

Journalist will be stunned if all three moves to Celtic take place

That is certainly quite a number of players to sign from the J1 League in the space of such a short span of time. But the feeling has been that it will happen.

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet and things can change quickly. But at this point of time, it does feel like Celtic are certainly moving in that direction.

Kyogo’s success ever since moving from Japan must have been a huge encouragement in this regard, and could have convinced the club to go for more players from the J1 League in the future.
