Ange Postecoglou has come in and already become a Celtic fan favourite. The start might have been shaky for the Hoops but the manager has steadied the ship and then some. And the 1-0 victory against St Johnstone, through a James Forrest winner, means that he has guided the club to their first final under his management just months after his arrival. They will face Hibernian at Hampden Park next month, with the first trophy of the season up for grabs.
But, there is a long way to go before that. In fact, the entire month of December could end up playing a huge role in Celtic’s season, with several important games to be played.
One such game will be against St Johnstone on Boxing Day. Thus, there is the possibility that the team will be at Lennoxtown on Christmas Day.
Of course, a Boxing Day game is not uncommon at all. And while speaking on The Celtic View’s Christmas Podcast and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, Postecoglou made a brilliant claim on the prospect of a Christmas Day training session:
“I think for the most part that the players accept that. That’s part of it. We kind of like to think that we’re almost like an extended family here. So you kind of have Christmas morning with your real family and then you share it with your Celtic family in the afternoon.”
Postecoglou makes brilliant Christmas claim regarding Celtic
That is absolutely brilliant to be honest and it is not hard to see why Postecoglou has so quickly become such a popular figure amongst Celtic fans, when only just a few months back, most were not delighted when the club made the appointment.
Of course, the recent results have played a huge part in that as well. After all, at the heart of it all, football is about putting the ball in the back of the net and winning games.
Celtic are the in-form team in Scotland at the moment, having won eight of their previous nine games across all competitions and drawing the remaining one. Of course, Postecoglou’s side will be hoping to keep their run going but face a massive task next, when they travel to Germany to face Bayer Leverkusen.
