Celtic find themselves in good form at the moment but there is no denying the fact that Ange Postecoglou’s side do not have great squad depth. As a result, possible injuries to a few important players could leave them in trouble. Thus, the Hoops must add to their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
One area that Postecoglou could certainly do with more options in is goalkeeper. Joe Hart has come in and done a brilliant job till now, establishing himself between the posts as well as a leader in this team.
But beyond him, there does not appear to be a clear second choice goalkeeper. Also, Vasilis Barkas is being linked with a move away in January. As a result, it would not be a bad idea on the part of Celtic to make an addition there when the transfer window reopens.
As reported by Homme du Match, Stade Brestois goalkeeper Marco Bizot is in the sights of Celtic. The club are looking at the possibility of bringing him in on loan in January but the French club might not be interested in that option unless a summer buy clause is included in the deal as well.
Celtic linked with Bizot but deal might be difficult to pull off
Bizot moved to Stade Brestois just this summer but has not enjoyed a great start there. And as a result, rumours are already linking the 30-year-old goalkeeper with a move away from the club.
There is no question that Bizot is a good goalkeeper though and he even appeared for the Netherlands national team last year.
Thus, he could be a solid option for Celtic to consider if there is an opportunity for them to get a deal done in January. But it does appear that that could prove to be difficult.
