Celtic behind the scenes update is a massive worry

This summer was one of change for Celtic both on the pitch, on the sidelines and behind the scenes. As a result, we saw a new manager, several new players and a new Chief Executive arrive within the span of a few months and it had looked like they were moving in the right direction. The latest behind the scenes update about the club is a massive worry though.

Not too long ago, one of the biggest discussions surrounding Celtic was the Director of Football position. There had been suggestions that the club had been looking to make an appointment there and several interesting names had been linked with a Parkhead move as well.

The rumours have died down quite a bit regarding that recently and we have also seen Dom McKay step as Chief Executive just months after taking the role.

A Celtic fan forum was held recently on October 28 and one update emerging from that appears to be a massive worry. It looks like there was no commitment from the club regarding a Director of Football or Head of Football Operations. A Twitter user named Ginty1888, who asks questions for The Cynic, tweeted out:

No commitment from Celtic regarding a Director of Football or a Head of Football Operations

Nick Hammond was the Head of Football Operations for Celtic recently but he departed earlier this year. He has not been replaced since then.

On the other hand, the club have never had a Director of Football. That position has grown in prominence in football these days though and they were expected to make an appointment there over the summer.

We are well into the new season though and are already in November. There do not appear to be many rumours linking people with the position at this point of time though.
