Neil Lennon ‘legend’ article draws incredible Celtic fan reaction

Neil Lennon, I think, is a much maligned character when he discussed amongst the Celtic fans.

Many regard him as a legend for his twenty years service at the club. Many have never forgiven him for losing the ten in a row dream and the legacy he left Ange Postecoglou.

Of course, that legacy wasn’t ALL down to Lennon. The board have much of the blame to bear for their part in the downfall and downsizing of this once brilliant Celtic squad.

Lennon, because of last season, had now become a divisive figure amongst the Hoops support which is why this article by The Celtic Way, drew such a mixed reaction from the fans.

In some ways, I can certainly agree with part of what the writer, Kevin McKenna wrote,“Throughout it all, Lennon defended Celtic and bore the pain.

“He’s been doing that since he made his debut for Celtic at Dens Park more than 20 years ago.

“This man is entitled to a free pass into Parkhead for the rest of his life, and our eternal gratitude.”

We, as Celtic fans, should always be be grateful for Lennon’s role in securing a second nine in a row and an unprecedented Quadruple Treble.

But what I think irk’s fans more is Lennon’s failure to accept any accountability for last seasons failures and how he has conducted himself in the media since.

And there is where I think the fans may have an issue with the former gaffer having a free pass to Paradise.

But the Hoops fans reaction on Twitter certainly was a mixed one and the article itself, drew great debate from the fans:

And I think I will leave the last word to this fan:
